Because Reed wrecked his knee last year and then suffered nerve damage that shot down to his right foot, he cannot flex his ankle upward. Or to the outside.
"Downward is OK," he said the other day at Heritage Hall, standing up and pushing off in demonstration. "And I can flex it to the inside. It's just the other stuff. Basically it's just numb. It feels weird, but I've been able to show what I can do. It's just something to deal with."
