USC’s Carroll returns to his roots with trip to Razorback Stadium - NW Arkansas Times
...It’s Carroll’s first trip back to Fayetteville since he left Arkansas in January 1978 to become the defensive backfield coach at Iowa State. His excited tone during Monday’s press teleconference betrayed any pretense he would feign to keep it blasé about coming back to where he really got his start.

“Heck, yeah it does!” Carroll replied if coming back to Fayetteville means much personally. “ I had a great experience there. I had a magical year with all the coaches on that staff. Monte Kiffin, Bobby Cope, Don Breaux, Jesse Branch, Ken Turner, Harold Horton, Larry Beightol, it was an incredible group of guys that we worked with. It’s a big deal coming back. It kicked started my career coaching.”...
