...Dwayne Jarrett, whose 61-yard catch and run on fourth-and-nine at Notre Dame Stadium was the signature play of a season dominated by Reggie Bush highlights, now assumes the mantle passed from Carson Palmer to Mike Williams to Matt Leinart to Bush and LenDale White.

The All-American wide receiver, a Biletnikoff Award finalist as a sophomore, is USC's most recent Heisman Trophy candidate. The stiff-arming statue has resided in Heritage Hall in three of the past four seasons. If he ties the school's single-season record of 16 touchdown catches again, Jarrett could make it four out of five.

The Arkansas defense, torched by Jarrett for 79 yards and two scores in last year's 70-17 romp, is readying itself for Jarrett and senior Steve Smith, who might make up the best receiving duo in the country...
