"I really like the whole mentality," junior linebacker Brian Cushing said. "It comes straight from coach Carroll. He's competitive in everything he does...He's a guy you want to be your coach because he resembles a person like you."
Carroll has benefited from the fact USC is a hot school, listed 27th in this year's rankings of American colleges...The campus has the added advantage of being located in the midst of a celebrity-filled movie town close to the beach where temperatures hover around the mid-80's with no humidity during the season...
