USC's Turner takes a hit - OC Register
On Monday afternoon, Patrick Turner said it was about time for a real game. “We’re ready for some different competition, another jersey, someone you really want to hit in the mouth,” Turner said.

Less than 24 hours later, Turner took a vicious hit from one of his teammates, one that might jeopardize his availability for Saturday’s opener.

Linebacker Rey Maualuga knocked Turner to the turf with a helmet-to-helmet hit heard around the practice field Tuesday. Turner spent the final 45 minutes of practice in his T-shirt being treated for a stinger - a nerve injury - on the left side of his neck...
