The Trojans' coach pretty much has satisfied every requirement for sainthood, except the part about being dead. It's outrageous, really, the success USC has enjoyed the last five years.

Along with returning talent by the ton, another reason the Trojans are expected to be among the nation's finest is their desire to bounce back. Bounce back? USC won 11 games, including the Rose Bowl, a year ago. And such finishes – that is, playing in January for anything other than No. 1 – have become disappointing...
