...Like it hadn't gotten a little sideways already. In June, LSU coach Les Miles rekindled the madness with some shots at USC. Specifically, he suggested that USC has a much easier road to the national title game than LSU and that he'd love it if his team could prance through the Pac-10 like the Trojans do every fall.

Miles conveniently left out one teeny-weeny fact: USC's typical waltz has more to do with the Trojans' talent than the league it plays in. This is a team with high school All-Americans battling college All-Americans for playing time. This is a team with a group of elite seniors...who returned to school instead of leaving for NFL millions...

..."You would think," says one SEC coach, "Les would win a big one before he opens his mouth."...
