USC kicker Troy Van Blarcom said Wednesday he was told before training camp he could transfer, but it had nothing to do with losing the kickoff duties to junior-college transfer David Buehler.Van Blarcom, who is a sophomore, said he and his father met with USC coach Pete Carroll, who gave him the option of leaving for another school because of academic issues.
"I have some grade problems," Van Blarcom said. "They didn't think I would recover from my grades. But I think I will."...
