UO puts up fight; USC runs away - Portland Oregonian
USC held off Oregon to win the Pacific-10 Conference men's track and field title Sunday at Hayward Field, but not without a fight.

The Trojans didn't clinch until they won the 4x400 relay, the competition's final event, with USC anchor Lionel Larry coming from behind in the final turn to catch Oregon's Jordan Kent.

Larry crossed the finish line first, giving the Trojans a winning relay time of 3 minutes, 5.74 seconds and 140 team points...
