USC Game Will Show How Far Nebraska Has Climbed - Hartford Courant
Ever since Bill Callahan took over as Nebraska's coach in 2004, he has wanted to know one thing from his football team each week: How hard can it compete?

But even if the Cornhuskers (2-0) compete as hard as they can Saturday night in Lincoln, can it be enough to beat top-ranked Southern Cal? No, because there's still the issue of talent, and the Trojans have an overabundance. And, like Callahan, USC coach Pete Carroll is from the same school - leave it all on the field...

...The Cornhuskers may have knocked off defending ACC champion Wake Forest...but after looking at the film Callahan said the players were disappointed that they didn't play better, especially on offense...
