Garrett confident USC won’t be sanctioned - OC Register
As an NCAA investigation into the Reggie Bush matter drags toward its two-year anniversary, officials in the USC athletic department are increasingly confident little will come of it.
In his first public comments on the matter, Athletic Director Mike Garrett said he is not worried about forthcoming sanctions. Neither Garrett or Coach Pete Carroll has been in recent contact with the NCAA.
“It’s more a feeling. If it was going to break and all this stuff was going to come out, it would have come out a long time ago,” Garrett said. “It could happen in the next three years or whatever, but I don’t think there’s a lot to it.”
The NCAA launched its probe in January of 2006 after a report in Yahoo! Sports that Bush’s family had accepted improper benefits from sports agents...
