He probably can, but only because Carroll has an uncanny ability to stockpile talent and convince the talent that ample opportunity exists for each Trojan to contribute mightily before playing in the NFL.

For example, despite signing four standout running backs in 2006 (five, if we include fullback Stanley Havili), three such high school hotshots — including national player of the year Joe McKnight — decided to become Trojans in 2007.
