Pruitt sidelined by academics - LA Daily News
USC junior Gabe Pruitt, expected to be the point guard next season following the death of Ryan Francis, will be academically ineligible for the fall semester and miss at least a third of the Trojans' games.

Pruitt failed a class in the spring semester, according to sources, and could not get the grade changed. He is attending summer school but that will not improve his eligibility for the fall.

Perhaps more ominously, it is not the only academic issue facing the basketball team this summer.

Senior guard Lodrick Stewart must pass two summer classes to be eligible and incoming forward Taj Gibson is not registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse...
