Virginia Powell is finally out of Gail Devers' shadow in the 100-meter hurdles. The USC senior clocked a collegiate-record 12.55 seconds in the 100-meter hurdle semifinals in the NCAA Track & Field Championships at Sacramento State on Wednesday night to crush the record of 12.61 that she had shared with Devers for the last year.The 2006 world leading mark finally gave Powell sole ownership of the record first set in 1988 by Devers...
..."They won't even say that I share it with her," Powell said. "They always say Gail Devers' record. I think that I have to break it to have my name on it."...
