...when it comes to getting back on the football field, perhaps no Trojan is more grateful than Desmond Reed.The Temple City High School product was poised for a breakout 2005 season. But in USC's epic game last October against Notre Dame, Reed suffered a freak, non-contact injury when his right knee buckled on a kickoff.
Reed tore knee ligaments, which knocked him out for the rest of the season. What's more, he also suffered nerve damage to his leg, a considerably less frequent and more complicated injury, which put his entire 2006 season in question.
