They get to use only one football at Tailback U., and that's starting to look insufficient.

The running backs just keep coming.

"So many guys," USC coach Pete Carroll said often during the first week of practice.

It's been fun for the fans who flock to the side practice field where the kickers normally work after the nine-on-seven drill.

It's offense against defense. Man on man. Lots of contact. Power against power. One running back after another with the defense knowing they're coming...
