Playmakers will decide coach's fate - Florida Times-Union
Jack Del Rio keeps tapping into coaches with experience in the video-game league (Pacific-10) for his offensive coordinator. That might partially explain why dismissed Arizona State coach Dirk Koetter was a surprise hire over...Kennedy Pola.

It's only a guess as to whether Koetter...will be an upgrade over predecessors Carl Smith and Bill Musgrave, but this is a hellacious gamble on both sides.

With his job on the line next season, Del Rio entrusted a critical position to someone with no NFL experience, unprecedented among coordinators in franchise history. Koetter had a chance to take the same post at the University of Miami, yet he chose the Jaguars, where the temperature on Del Rio's seat is much hotter...
