...Early arrivals don't always mean happy departures. Quarterback Brock Berlin graduated from high school early and enrolled at Florida but couldn't win the starting job. He eventually transferred to Miami, where he finished his career.

John David Booty graduated early from his Shreveport, La., high school to enroll at Southern California and get a jump on winning the starting quarterback job. Matt Leinart, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2004, eventually beat him out. Now, as he heads into his senior season, Booty has thrown only 66 career passes...
