...In Cincinnati, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis is admitting that quarterback Carson Palmer is months ahead of schedule, and will be on the field this summer more than most anybody would have expected......Lewis said Palmer was doing things in mid-June that the Bengals didn't think he would be able to do until mid-August. Because of this, the Bengals plan to work him more this summer than they thought they would.
All along, the Bengals insisted they would be as patient as they had to be; and they will continue to do so. But Palmer has made their decisions easy for them. Starting the regular-season opener now seems like a foregone conclusion. Starting the preseason opener now seems well within reason...
